After 20 years of Real Estate, I absolutely love that my clients feel comfortable picking up the phone to ask me questions, no matter what they may be. I want to be a constant resource for them and many times it doesn't even have anything to do with their home or their property.
Yesterday a client that purchased their home about 5 years ago sent me a message asking my opinion on their "Zestimate". (Zillow's estimated home value) They said the estimated value sure seemed high but wanted to know if I would crunch some numbers and give my opinion. We talked about what kind of changes they have made since purchasing and all the pertinent details that helps determine the value of their home.
Once I had completed my research, I determined my conservative value was $40,000 more than Zillow's estimate.

To say they were surprised was an understatement.

Long story short. Zillow has no clue about the details of your home. Zillow simply gets their data from the tax records. Zillow has no clue if you have new floors, updated bathrooms or new appliances. Zillow has no idea if you have built a new deck or removed a wall. Zillow doesn't know the good nor do they know the bad. A computer will NEVER replace the knowledge of a good real estate agent.

Allow this to be a reminder that I am here. And will ALWAYS be looking out for your best interest.
