Buyers and sellers, quick real estate update.

A judge has ordered Zillow listings to be restored, and IDX feeds are opening back up in Illinois.

While that sounds like good news, it has also created some confusion.

Some listings that are now showing online may not actually be available anymore.

Because of local board switches and MLS transition, some agents and brokerages no longer have access to go back into the previous system and mark certain properties as sold, inactive, or withdrawn.

So now, some homes may appear active online even though they have recently sold or are no longer available.

With it also being a holiday weekend, please be patient. There may be misinformation online for a little bit while everything gets cleaned up.

If you recently bought a home and you see it showing as active or for sale online, please do not panic.

Your home is not for sale.
No one can show it.
No one can buy it.

This is a data/feed issue, not a real-life ownership issue.

For buyers, this is exactly why it matters where you search and who you work with. One website may not always show the most accurate picture in real time.

Right now, because of a dispute between Zillow and MRED, many listings may not be showing on Zillow or Trulia.🔎

That does not mean those homes are not for sale.🏘️

It means buyers and sellers need to know where to search and what questions to ask.🤓
