With the large amount of snow ❄️ that fell yesterday, I want to remind my homeowners 🏠 to keep their furnace vents, intake valves, and clothes dryer exhausts free of snow and ice in order to keep the heat on, prevent fires and prevent carbon monoxide poisoning
If you aren't sure what to look for, these are usually white plastic pipes that come out of the side of your home. (See photo)

❗️Also, clear the snow from your gas and electric meters and AC condenser. A buildup of snow and ice on gas and electric meters could cause them to malfunction!

So, you’re getting ready to move. 📦And it’s understandable if just the thought of it is making you feel overwhelmed already! 😧

Do not worry, here are 3 simple yet effective moving tips to make it much more “tackle-able”!

1️⃣ Pack early. Even though it sounds obvious, many people put off packing until the last minute! If you can tackle one section of your home at a time, you’ll find yourself less stressed and overwhelmed with the task.

2️⃣ Label boxes. Again, sounds obvious, but in the moment of packing up, it’s easy to forget to label your boxes. So make sure you have your Sharpie out where you can see it!

3️⃣ Donate. When packing, it’s a great opportunity to sift through all your items and donate the things you don’t need anymore. A rule of thumb: If it hasn’t been out of storage, your closet, or a cupboard for 6 months, it’s time to donate.

Monthly maintenance tips! 🛠 To better serve you I am going to start sharing some monthly reminder home tasks that you should check off your list! ✔️

It’s time to bring your potted plants indoors! In general, it’s best to keep your plants away from any vents and maintain humidity during the Winter! 🪴

If you haven’t cleaned out the lint from your dryer exhaust vent recently, NOW IT THE TIME! Trapped lint can be a fire hazard! 🔥

All those fall leaves might be clogging your gutters and with all these rain storms lately, it’s time to get them cleared out! 🍂

Have a garbage disposal? Give it a deep clean and say goodbye to any unwanted scents! Reminder, do not stick any fingers or hands into the garbage disposal! 🚫 👋🏻

Finally, it also might be time to oil up your garage door tracks! It’s good to do this every 3 months or so, this should keep any squeaking away! 🚘
