The Homebuilders Association of Greater Des Moines, chartered in 1944, is a non-profit trade association affiliated with the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) and the Homebuilders Association of Iowa (HBAI). The HBA of Greater Des Moines is dedicated to the advancement of the building industry, its members and the communities it serves. The purpose of the Association shall be:
•To provi

de leadership, education and direction for its members as the recognized voice of the industry
•To establish and maintain prescribed industry standards and professionalism of its members
•To enhance the building industry by maintaining a cooperative and effective relationship with government
•To maintain a strong membership base and financial stability to be able to effectively respond to the future issues and challenges.

Professional Women in Building recently held their annual holiday party to celebrate an amazing 2025!

This year, PWB held a very successful Phone-A-Thon, Girls In Construction summer camp, delivered scholarships to women going into the building industry, and held a number of events throughout the year.

Congratulations to Kate Arnest for being awarded the PWB Active Involvement Award and Jamie Elrod for being awarded the PWB Member of the Year and PWB Ambassador Award!

Thank you to all of PWB for what they do for the DSM HBA and the Des Moines Community.

2025 marked our 4th annual Uncoastal Social at the HomeShowExpo!

Over the last four years, we were able to raise tens of thousands of dollars for local non-profits in the Des Moines area through this event. This year, we donated $20,000 to Iowa Homes for Heroes, which graciously built a mortgage-free home for an Iowa veteran and their family.

In 2025, we held the largest Uncoastal Social to date, raised money for Homes of Heroes, and had 9,000+ attendees walk through the homes.
