Think pollinators and the absolute importance of planting flowers. It's that simple. I love this organization and they have the added benefit of have the same name as us, just with a more traditional Greek spelling.

THE JOURNEY BEGINS
The bones of the sanctuary arrived after a long hot summer living in the RV.
There is a special kind of magic in watching a dream take physical form. After months of preparation, our house arrived on two trailers, moving slowly and steadily toward its new home. Seeing it finally lowered onto the foundation felt like the land itself exhaling—a long-held breath finally released.
We have reached the 'Living' milestone: The well is drilled and flowing, the electric is humming, and we are officially operational. The water is clear, the lights are on, and the heart of Circe’s Sanctuary is beating. We are so grateful to be rooted here in Johnstown. Now, the real work—and the real magic—begins.

TRIBUTE TO MY GREEK HERITAGE
For me, this 5 acre farmland in Johnstown, NY is more than a project; it is a return to my roots. As a person of Greek heritage, I have always been moved by the stories of those who came before us—those who understood that the Earth is the ultimate medicine chest.
I named this space Circe's Sanctuary because in ancient traditions, Circe was the master of Pharmakeia—the art of transformation through plants. She isn’t just a mythical figure; she represents the primal knowledge of the 'Green Witch,' the one who knows which root heals and which leaf restores.
For centuries women have been the silent pulse of the healing arts. They were the midwives, the herbalists, and the keepers of the hearth who held the secrets of life and wellness in their hands. They turned gardens into pharmacies and kitchens into sanctuaries.
At Circe’s Sanctuary we are honoring that long lineage. We are reclaiming the role of the woman as a healer and the homestead as a refuge. We invite you to join us in this ancient practice—bringing your own joy and expertise to a space where history, heritage, and healing meet the soil.

Many great stories start with a plot of land and a vision. Old land, new dreams. My brother and I have begun our journey here in Johnstown NY. We are the proud new stewards of 5 acres of beautiful farmland in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Our vision? To turn this soil, rich with its own stories, into Circe's Sanctuary—a place of refuge and natural healing.🏛️🌿
This isn't just a homestead; it’s a dream of a refuge where nature heals and people flourish. We are honored to be in this community. Many summers were spent in the Adirondacks and so this feels like coming home.
We are opening our gates and our hearts to those who want to bring their skills and joy to a growing project. We are looking for partners in labor and spirit to help us build this dream. Will you join us?
