A simple way to keep an eye on your property title

Real estate fraud is rare, but it does happen. The video above shares a recent case where a home was fraudulently sold without the true owner’s knowledge.

There are ways to help protect yourself, but it requires staying informed and vigilant. If you own property in Julian or anywhere in San Diego County, the Assessor’s Owner Alert program is a free service that sends you an email anytime a document is recorded that could affect your property title.

It takes less than five minutes to enroll with your email address and Assessor Parcel Number (APN), and it provides ongoing monitoring at no cost.
