Construction Update No. 2: Smith Homestead
Our lot had power at the street (easement driveway) already. Hookup + hiring an electrician was still a fairly large expense. My husband added a welder outlet and RV hookup to the pump house. Itβs all ready to be fed to the house and eventual shop/barn. π€©
The well was drilled prior to us purchasing the lot. We still had to hire someone to come put the pump in and other infrastructure. Luckily my husband can do trenching and some other prep work himself to save on cost a little bit. We have a constant pressure system which only has a small tank so takes up less space in our pump house plus will prevent our water pressure from going wonky when multiple things are running. Water quality will be our next project for the well. π§
The 20β x 20β pump house is almost finished. It still needs insulation, drywall, some siding and paint. We may end up hiring someone to finish it π
Our septic installation permit was approved and my husband is working on that now (has to be installed between Aug-Oct).
The County has had our dwelling permit submission for a while now. They said to expect a 4-6 week turnaround. They have done an initial review and required some changes and said it would take an additional 10 days or so for review. Fingers crossed that we get the green light soon!!!
