A potent cold front brings strong northwest winds late tonight through Thursday. The strongest winds are expected for a brief time immediately behind the front after midnight tonight to before dawn, then from late morning through sunset. Wind gusts up to 65 MPH are expected in central and north-central Kansas east to near Highway 75. Take action to secure loose objects such as inflatable holiday decorations. Power outages are possible. Fire conditions will be extreme for portions of the area, so be careful with anything that can cause a spark.
