After more than 20 years of renting, one local buyer decided it was finally time for a change. He missed the simple things — having his own outdoor space, grilling on the weekends, and creating a place where family could gather and make memories.
What started as a “maybe someday” dream became real when he explored his financing options and discovered he qualified for a community grant and a great interest rate. Suddenly, homeownership was within reach.
But like many buyers today know, the market isn’t always easy. Over the course of eight months, he and his agent, Shelly, toured 13 homes, submitted offers on five, and faced multiple-offer situations along the way. When inventory in his preferred neighborhood was limited, Shelly even mailed letters to off-market homeowners to help uncover more opportunities.
There were moments of frustration and exhaustion — because house hunting can absolutely feel like a marathon. But the key is having the right support system and someone willing to stay steady, creative, and committed through every twist and turn.
Because sometimes… all it takes is one. ✨
Finally, the wait is over. The keys are in hand, the backyard comes complete with a grill courtesy of the seller, and a brand-new chapter has officially begun.
Huge congratulations to this new homeowner and cheers to the persistence, patience, and teamwork that made it happen. 🏡
👉 If you’ve been wondering whether homeownership could be possible for you too, don’t count yourself out before exploring your options. From community grant programs to navigating today’s competitive market, Shelly is always happy to provide guidance, resources, and support to help you get started.
