US Housing Prices Keep Climbing
It’s been another season of surprises in the housing market—many buyers were hoping affordability would improve, but across the country, home prices have stayed strong. Even as the post-pandemic rush faded, demand outpaced the number of available homes, keeping prices up—especially in markets where people are eager to move in. In some areas with more new construction and gentler demand, buyers found a bit more leverage as homes lingered on the market. What’s interesting: home sales actually rose even while mortgage rates climbed, a sign that steady job and income growth nationally is still fueling demand. Looking ahead, it’s a mixed picture—rising incomes are helping, but those higher mortgage rates remain a real hurdle for many. In South Florida, I’ve seen firsthand how the unique balance of supply and demand shapes the market, and I’m always keeping a close eye on how these broader trends play out locally.
