For the past 10 years, the Sophie Swim has brought the Maui community together to honor Sophie DeLoria and support the activities and causes she loved.

What began in 2016 as a community swim has grown into an annual event that brings swimmers, families, local businesses, and community members together while raising funds for keiki programs across Maui.

Through the Sophie DeLoria Foundation, support has gone toward swimming, music, the arts, education, scholarships, and other youth programs. In 2026, the foundation donated $26,000 to local organizations and programs supporting Maui’s keiki.

The Sophie Swim continues to bring people together while creating opportunities for the next generation.

Applications for disaster relief assistance are now open! The Hawai‘i REALTORS® Charitable Foundation, the charitable arm of Hawai‘i REALTORS®, will distribute grants up to $1,000 for Hawai‘i residents who were impacted by Hurricane/Tropical Storm Lala and Hurricane Lowell. The funds, totaling $200,000, are provided by the REALTORS® Relief Foundation, which offers housing-related assistance to disaster-impacted communities through the generosity of REALTORS®, state and local associations, and industry partners.

Hawai‘i homeowners and renters affected by the storms may apply for grants up to $1,000. Applications will be accepted through November 4, 2026, on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be reviewed by the Hawai‘i REALTORS® Charitable Foundation. Last month, Hawaiʻi’s President-Elects and Association Executives came together in Chicago for NAR Leadership Week, an opportunity to learn, connect, and gain insight into the future of REALTOR® leadership.

From inspiring conversations to new perspectives and meaningful connections, it was a great week filled with learning and collaboration. RAM looks forward to the year ahead and all the opportunities and possibilities to come!

What does receiving a scholarship mean to a student? And what does it mean to invest in the next generation of our community?

We sat down with a few of this year’s Presidential Scholarship recipients, along with RAM’s President and Incoming President, to hear about their experiences, goals, and hopes for the future.

This year, RAM awarded 39 scholarships, bringing the total awarded through the program since 1989 to $1,021,000. We’re proud to support these students as they pursue their dreams and look forward to seeing where their journeys take them!

This year, we’re proud to have awarded 39 scholarships to deserving students in our community!

We’re also excited to share that we have officially surpassed $1 million in scholarships awarded since the program began in 1989, with a total of $1,021,000 awarded to date.

Congratulations to all 39 of this year’s recipients! We wish you all the best as you continue your education and pursue your goals. We hope to see many of you return to Maui someday and bring your knowledge, talents, and experiences back to the community you call home.
