New U.S. Census Bureau data shows Kalispell added 626 residents in 2025 for a 2% growth rate, leading all of Montana's major cities. Over the past five years, Kalispell has grown 27% — ranking 48th out of nearly 1,900 cities nationwide. The post-pandemic boom is easing, but northwest Montana remains one of the country's top growth destinations.

While residential prices are relatively flat, land prices seem to be a little more erratic. However, with land having a lower median price, big high price sales will have a more noticeable impact. There are also generally more residential sales than land sales in a given month. (570 vs. 137 in the past 30 days across our MLS.)
