Happy New Year!
I hope this issue finds you rested from the holidays, filled with the love of family and friends and ready to take on this fresh New Year. If there's one thing I've learned, it is that time doesn't just march on, it flies by at jet speed and thus makes it imperative to center ourselves, slow down and truly enjoy every moment.
Whether you're looking for shopping, extraordinary dining, music, sport, awe-inspiring nature, white sandy beaches or simply space to breathe' each island of Hawaii has its own version and unique personality to meet any individuals’ desires.
Growth in the Hawaiian Islands over the years has been astounding. But one sweet spot, which still remains what you might call "Old Hawaii Style", is the Big Island of Hawaii. We certainly have high-end dining, world class golf courses, exquisite beaches located along the Kohala Coast (Four Seasons, Fairmont, Mauna Kea & Mauna Lani Beach Resorts), cultural performances that are off the charts (Kahilu Theater), 18 microclimates and natural wonders of the world (snow-capped Mauna Kea, rich lava flow Kilauea) just as importantly, we also have and live on "Hawaiian Time". Which doesn't mean being late, it means being right on time for pulling to the side of the road to watch a sunset or whales migrate, sitting curbside to watch any of the many old fashioned parades each town throws for every occasion they can think of, to bring community together and stores that close at noon on Sunday, because it's family time! That's the Big Island. Diverse. Restorative. Beautiful.
Whether you have been thinking about vacationing, considered moving or retiring here, maybe even toyed with the idea of investment in a vacation rental home, I would love to offer my experience and expertise in guiding you towards finding your own slice of paradise. Please feel free to call me anytime. I look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you soon.
Cheers to happy and warmest wishes for a successful New Year.
With aloha,
Rick Johnson
