Everyone's always talking about how the Black community doesn't get any new development, well there are several exciting projects coming to the 18th & Vine District. One will have a Groundbreaking today, we hope you can stop by. The project, OneNine Vine, is a $25 million mixed-use development w/one and two bedroom apartments, restaurant and retail space, and new spaces for artists to showcase their work. First of its kind mixed use, market rate affordable/attainable apartments with retail on the ground floor and covered parking located on Kansas City’s eastside. It adheres to the City of Kansas City’s policy of utilizing 20% of its units as affordable at the 60% AMI level. It means an affordable 1-bedroom unit would cost less than $800 per month and a 2-bedroom affordable unit would be less than $1,000 a month. The other units would be market rate.
