SO happy for these buyers.
Working with these buyers was especially rewarding because we searched for 6 + months. Pretty normal, right? We were looking for a 3 bedroom, 2 bath ranch home in Belton, MO. for under $275K. If you know this market and that area and that sounds impossible it’s because it is. We submitted offer after offer and came up short every time. Did we find something that worked for them? No. We MADE something work for them.
In this market, you have to be innovative and solutions driven and flexible. These buyers were in need of a home that was ADA compliant because 2 of them were in wheelchairs. We found this 3 bedroom ONE bath home and luckily it was investor owned. The seller owns a construction company. We asked them to convert the garage to an additional bedroom and full-ADA compliant bathroom and we would increase the purchase price $30K from their original asking price. The seller thought about it and got back to us the very next day. He started working on it that week and here we are 5 weeks later!
This wouldn’t be possible without this listing agent or this seller and I think this should send a message to all other realtors and buyers that you won’t know unless you try! Don’t let the market get you down. It’s tough out there but keep pushing forward, don’t take no for an answer and keep an open mind. You might find someone just as willing as you to make it work for everyone.
