Prior to becoming a real estate agent, I was a high school personal finance teacher for five years. Students now are lucky, the district I taught in made financial literacy a graduation requirement! This meant every student was taught about credit cards, loans, interest rates, down payments, budgeting, etc.
But when I was in high school, we weren’t quite as lucky. Personal finance wasn’t even a class, let alone a graduation requirement! Which meant millions of students, just like me, were graduating all across America with no formal training in the one thing that affects all. of. us. MONEY.
This is why I’m SO passionate about working with first time home buyers! I am prepared to answer all the questions, even the ones you might be embarrassed to ask. Don’t know how interest rates work? No problem, I’ve got you. Confused about the difference between a conventional and FHA loan? I’ve taught whole lectures on the subject. There are no dumb questions here.
