WYANDOTTE COUNTY FRIENDS: Before you call your insurance company… CALL A ROOFER.

If you live in Wyandotte County, you already know last night’s storms were no joke. I live here too, and between the wind, hail, downed trees and general chaos, there’s a good chance a lot of us are going to be wondering what kind of damage our homes actually took.

But here’s my friendly Realtor PSA:

Before you immediately call your insurance company and file a claim, have your roof inspected by a LOCAL, TRUSTED roofing company or contractor.

Not every roof withstood the storm perfectly.
But not every roof needs to be replaced either.

A reputable professional can inspect your roof, tell you whether there is legitimate storm damage and, if there is, help you understand the next steps and navigate the insurance process.

And please… be cautious of the out-of-town storm-chasing crews that will inevitably start knocking on doors promising everyone on the block a brand-new roof. 😬
