🎉 NRG Adventure Park — A 46,000 square foot all-ages indoor adventure park is coming to the former Macy's building at Metro North Crossing in late 2026. Yes, really.

🍕 Imo's Pizza — St. Louis-style thin crust with Provel cheese has arrived at 8502 N. Jefferson St.

🥤 Swig — The fan-favorite dirty soda shop is already open at 8544 N. Jefferson St.

This week our crews wrapped up sanitary sewer lines on the north side of the site, submitted KC Water contract docs, and kept mass grading pushing forward. Week by week, this neighborhood is taking shape right before our eyes.

There's something about this part of Missouri that operates at a different frequency. It's not slow in the way that means boring. It's slow in the way that means you actually notice things.

You notice the light on Prairie Creek Greenway in the early morning — the way it comes through the trees sideways and turns the trail gold. You notice the sound of geese at Smithville Lake and the quiet of a Saturday that isn't scheduled down to the minute.

You start going to the same places regularly, and the people there start knowing you. The staff at Bee Creek Bistro learn how you take your coffee. The owner at Barley & Vine remembers what you ordered last time and asks if you want to try the new pour.

You stop at Roxanne's Cafe on a random Tuesday because the parking lot is full and you know what that means — something is happening in this town today, and you're part of it.

You watch a Chiefs game at Twin Peaks with people you've started to recognize. You walk your dog past the same neighbors every morning and you've started waving. There is a version of community here that most cities used to have.

Provis Coffee Roasters is opening this summer right here in KC's Northland — a small-batch specialty roastery and café that's all about good craft, good vibes, and making people feel at home.

Honestly? It sounds like our kind of neighbor.

You know what the best version of a lake day looks like? It's the one that's easy enough to actually do on a random Saturday morning. ⛵

Living at Bluestem at Stagecoach means Smithville Lake is 20 minutes away. Not a road trip. Not something you have to pack for the night before. Just — an option. A real, actual option when you wake up and the weather app shows sun.

Here's how that Saturday goes:

You decide at 8am. You grab a cooler, clip the dog's leash, and go. Twenty minutes later you're at Camp Branch Creek — sandy shoreline, picnic tables, and water that's warm and gradual enough that your dog is already in before you've spread out a blanket.

If you feel like being on the water, you rent a pontoon from Camp Branch Marina for the afternoon. The staff there is legitimately wonderful and the boat is clean and ready. You motor around 7,000 acres of lake with nowhere you have to be.

On the way home you stop at 's Laketown Grill on US-169 — a local institution with a brisket grilled cheese that people drive across the county for and a patio that's perfect in the late afternoon.

You're home by 6pm. Sunned out, fed, and entirely at peace.
