# # 💛 Matthew’s Story – Miles 4 Matthew 🎗️
Dear Residents,
We would like to share the touching story behind **Miles 4 Matthew**, an organization created in memory of a brave young boy named Matthew.
Matthew’s cancer journey began in 2018 when, at only 4 years old, he was diagnosed with **Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)**. After years of chemotherapy and treatment at Texas Children’s Hospital, Matthew reached remission and completed his chemotherapy in October 2020.
Sadly, in 2022, Matthew’s family received devastating news when he was diagnosed with additional rare and aggressive forms of leukemia. Matthew underwent more treatments, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant. Throughout everything he faced, he showed incredible courage, strength, and resilience.
Although Matthew ultimately lost his battle with cancer, his story and legacy continue to make a difference. 💛
His family created **Miles 4 Matthew**, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families facing childhood cancer. What originally began as a way to help with Matthew’s medical expenses has grown into a mission to provide support to other families experiencing the financial and emotional challenges of childhood cancer.
🎗️ **Matthew’s fight may have ended, but his impact continues.**
We invite our residents and community to learn more about **Miles 4 Matthew**, participate in their events, follow their journey, and consider donating to help families fighting childhood cancer.
Together, our community can help keep Matthew’s memory alive while making a meaningful difference for other children and families. 💛
