Katy - Most Expensive Homes of September 2026 | Let’s connect & talk about the latest insights in the industry!
Every September, I like to take a close look at the upper end of the Katy market. Here are the most expensive homes on the market for September 2026, with the top spot coming in at $8,800,000 (Listing HAR4326777). The list continues with homes ranging from $6,900,000 (MFRACT5921112) down to $1,599,000 (HAR88084898), each representing a unique slice of what Katy’s luxury market has to offer.

Over the past 21 years, I’ve learned that high-value properties come with their own set of challenges—whether it’s strategic negotiation, complex problem-solving, or simply knowing which details matter most when the stakes are high. Having sold more than 500 listings here, I can say firsthand: navigating these transactions successfully is about more than numbers—it’s about understanding what real estate can do for your future. My own family’s story taught me that early on, and it’s a lesson that guides every deal.

Should I Buy or Rent in Houston? Start Here
When folks ask me whether they should buy or rent in Houston, I always say: it comes down to your finances, your lifestyle, and how long you plan to put down roots. If you’ve got steady income and you’re thinking long-term, buying can be a solid move—just as my own family learned generations ago. On the other hand, renting gives you flexibility if life’s still in motion. In our part of the world, it pays to weigh every factor: total costs, location, flood risk, and what matters most to you and yours. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, but with straight talk and a strategy that fits your goals, you can make a choice that builds your future.

Under 4 months of inventory, sellers win. Over 6, buyers do. Houston sits at 5.5. Here is what that hands you at the table in Katy.
The full breakdown is on my blog. https://crusso.remax.com/blog.php

That range buys you room on price, more room on terms, and time. Houston's median days on market ran close to 59 days this summer versus about 42 in 2022. You can see a home in Cinco Ranch on Saturday and write on Tuesday without losing it. But the metro number does not describe your search. A single-story under $400,000 behaves nothing like a two-story over $600,000. Let's measure your actual submarket before you write anything.
