Relocating to Houston for an oil and gas position can move quickly. New job, new city, moving logistics and suddenly you may have just one weekend to figure out where you want to live. 🏡
That is a lot to put on 48 hours.
A productive house-hunting trip should really begin before your plane lands. I want to understand your office location, commute, family needs, housing priorities and the areas that actually make sense for your everyday life.
The goal is not to cram 20 or 25 houses into two days. 🚗 The goal is to see the right homes, in the right areas, with enough time to understand the neighborhoods around them.
And if you do not find the right house that weekend, that does not mean the trip failed. Sometimes the biggest win is leaving Houston knowing exactly where you want to live and what you are willing to wait for.
I shared more in this week’s article about how I would help a relocating oil and gas professional make a 48-hour Houston house-hunting trip count. If Houston is part of your next career move, I’d be happy to help you start narrowing the map before you arrive. 📍
