Please join us in congratulation Megan DeJonge, RN, on her recent promotion to our leadership team as Staff Development Nurse!

Megan's journey at Brookestone Gardens is a testament to her dedication and passion for resident care. She began her career with us as a CNA in Independent/Assisted Living, then transitioned to LPN in Skilled Nursing and earned her RN license just a year later. This has given her a deep understanding of our residents, team and mission.

Megan proudly served as a medic in the Army National Guard for five years, demonstrating her commitment to serving other both in and out of the workplace.

Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, playing pickleball and going for walks. Family is a big part of her live and she cherishes the time she spends with her sister and parents.

Megan is excited to step into this new leadership role and has goals for supporting our team and making a difference in the lives of our residents. Congratulations, Megan! We look forward to seeing the positive impact you will bring as our Staff Development Nurse.

Today we celebrated an incredible milestone as Marilyn transitioned from Skilled Nursing to Assisted Living, where she is reunited with her husband.

We are so proud of all of the hard work, determination, and progress she has made along the way. It has been an honor to be part of her journey, and we are excited for this next chapter filled with love and independence!

Today, we honor the American flag and all it represents. In recognition of Flag Day, our team proudly lined Brookestone Gardens with flags as a meaningful way to show our patriotism and respect. As you pass by, we hope the sight of these flags brings a moment of reflection and pride.

Please help us give a warm welcome to four new team members joining our Brookestone Gardens family!

This week, they attended orientation as they begin their journey with us. We were also honored to have two special guests join us, Tonya, Administrator of Tiffany Square in Grand Island and Tom, Administrator at Riverside Lodge in Grand Island.

We're excited to have such great additions to our team and look forward to all they will bring to our community!

At 100 years young, Jack Northrop, Seaman Recruit and World War II Veteran, experienced a truly unforgettable honor with Dream Flight today.

Brookestone Gardens was proud to nominate Jack as part of a special day made possible through a partnership between the Nebraska Health Care Association and Dream Flights, an organization dedicated to “Giving Back to Those Who Gave” by bringing the magic of flight to veterans across the country.

Jack represents the very best of what it means to serve and honor one’s country. When he walks into a room, people are immediately drawn to his warmth and kindness. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and every time he is recognized for his service, he is deeply moved, often to tears. His love for his country and his sense of duty have never faded with time. Even now, he continues to show respect, gratitude, and pride in ways that inspire everyone around him.

It’s not often that Dream Flight has the opportunity to honor World War II veterans. On this special day, they were able to honor two, including Jack, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have witnessed such a meaningful moment.

Thank you, Jack, for your service, your sacrifice, and your enduring spirit!
