Memorial Day is more than the start of summer — it’s a day to reflect on the courage, service, and selflessness of those who gave everything for our freedom.
Every year, the Macks gather at our family plot in Walpole to clean the stones of those who came before us, plant fresh flowers, share stories, laugh, remember, and enjoy a good old-fashioned family picnic right there in the cemetery.
To some, it may seem unusual, but to us it’s a beautiful reminder that love, family, and memories live on long after someone is gone. It’s a day filled with reflection, gratitude, connection, and tradition — and I look forward to it every single year.
