Home prices jumped in the third quarter, as Salt Lake homebuyers, on average, paid $120,000 more than they did the same quarter last year. The median home price in Alpine soared above $1 million. In Emigration Canyon, prices climbed to a median of $830,000. Draper prices ended the quarter at $825,000. Rising prices and limited inventory pushed sales down 20% in Salt Lake County. Sales of all housing types across the five-county area of the Wasatch Front fell 18% in the third quarter (roughly 2,350 fewer home sales).
