It has been a busy start to the year. We have been all over since January. New Orleans, Pensacola, Tampa, Puerto Rico and Freeport to name a few.

Is everyone ready. Extra dock lines and fenders? Canvas and sails removed? Is your shore power cord long enough for several feet of tide rise? Are your batteries and bilge pumps ready to handle no power and lots of rain? Have you taken pictures of your boat and how it is tied up prior to Harvey? Have you checked your neighbors boats to see how they are tied up?

When an area on a boat is hard to access certain things become "out of sight and out of mind" like hoses. There were 4 hoses like this onboard. Looking for hose dry rot needs to be part or your checklist.

Very low tide this morning. If you own a boat that is tied to a fixed dock make sure your lines are properly adjusted.

What a great example of a classic. 1969 Hinckley Bermuda 40. Does anybody know how many times you have to turn the hand crank on the centerboard to get it up or down? It's a lot!

We are all over the place this week. Port Aransas, Galveston, Miami, and Bogota Columbia. When you find a surveyor you like you take them everywhere with you!

Electrolysis is no joke. Check out this bronze propeller shaft from a boat we surveyed today. It turned the shaft into butter. The bronze could literally be scraped away.
