PLEASE BEWARE!!! This did not happen to me or my clients, but I want to get the word out!

I have to share an encounter I had this afternoon hoping no one else has one similar....

Our doorbell rang. I cracked the door open a little because of the dog and there was a man standing there.

“New homeowners! Let me check my records.... (says our address) closing date of September 4?” .... not our closing date but I wasn’t giving him information, I just said no that’s not correct.

“By the way, I don’t know if you knew, but your garage is open and you have a really nice car in there.” 😳😳

I asked who he was and what he needed.

“I’m your ADT representative and I’m here to come in and hook up your service...”

I told him we don’t have ADT and we weren’t interested in the service. (We have a ring doorbell)

“Yes you do. They prepaid for you in your closing costs. I’m here to come in and hook it up.” 😳😳😳😳

After telling him that we in fact don’t have the service, “they” didn’t prepay for the service in our closing costs, I wasn’t interested and closed the door and locked it, I ran and closed the garage and watched to make sure he left.

Anyone recognize him or have had a similar experience??? Creepy that he is prowling on “new homeowners” with his story....
