Team Thompson

Team Thompson With 17+ years in real estate, I’m a Senior Real Estate Specialist & Certified Real Estate Planner. I take it very seriously. Your goal is my goal!

I guide families through transitions…downsizing, divorce, senior relocation, 1031s, trusts & probate…while protecting wealth and minimizing taxes. As someone who has personally purchased, remodeled, and built properties, I am well acquainted with the emotions, energy, and challenges involved in real estate opportunities. I understand the importance of listening to the needs and wants of sellers an

d strategizing with them. I aim to be a trusted representative for sellers by creating a win-win situation for all parties involved. Home buying is one of the most exciting (and most expensive!) adventures in life. Since I love to educate people about the many layers of home buying (like an onion...and yes, there can be tears), I have been certified by the Washington State Housing Finance Commission to teach home buying classes. I am also familiar with the joy (and relief!) of getting your hands on a new set of keys. The “key ceremony” is one of my favorite aspects of the real estate process. Establishing trust as a valued consultant by communicating timely, advocating for people, and helping them prepare for one of their most important commitments is an honor and privilege.

The lighting in a room has both quiet and loud effects on the space, the people in it, and the productivity of that room. What does your choice of lighting say about your home habits? 🤔💡

Filled my bucket today at Emerald Downs! 🐎☀️

Spent the afternoon with family meeting horses, rubbing soft noses, and completely falling in love with Señor Tequila. Add in margaritas, hot dogs, sunshine, a first-class chauffeur, and a stunning Mount Rainier backdrop, and it was pretty much a perfect day.

Best of all... Knock ‘Em Out Jerry won! 🎉🏇

Do you know what these are? 🤔

These little terracotta pieces are known as “sugar savers” or “sugar keepers.” You soak them in water and then place them in a container with brown sugar or other ingredients/foods that have a tendency to dry out. The terracotta is very absorbent without becoming wet, meaning that the sugar maintains its moisture easily—allowing it to stay soft for longer!

Other foods that these unsuspecting kitchen gadgets help keep moist for longer include:
🍞 pastries, cookies, cakes, and breads
🍪 raw, granulated, turbinado, and sugar substitutes
🍡 marshmallows

Did you know this existed? If so, do you have a different use for these sugar savers? Let us know below! 👇

Some household items should never go straight into the trash 🚫♻️

Things like batteries, paint, spray cans, and light bulbs need safe disposal to protect your home, health, and the environment. Small changes in waste disposal habits can make a big difference for safer and cleaner living.

Hopped on a plane, just me and Kade
Found the trains and made our way

Giordano’s cheese pull, coffee on repeat
Chicago days felt hard to beat

Boat tours under skyline glow
Riverwalk nights moving slow
Field Museum, mobster lore
Lakefront bikes and so much more

Art Institute, Chinatown strolls
Maxwell Market, hidden souls
Sunrise guitar by the shore
Donuts and coffee, then exploring more

We laughed, we wandered, time felt new
My favorite days were Chicago with you

My fridge died. Not “needs a little repair” died…full-on farewell tour. 💸

Turns out replacing a refrigerator now costs approximately the same as a small used car. Cool cool cool.

And when something major breaks in your house, it’s never at a convenient time. Appliances don’t care if you have vacations planned, braces to pay for, or a Costco haul melting on the kitchen floor.

After this lovely surprise, I decided I needed a better backup plan. Enter: a home warranty plan. 🙌

One call. Less stress. More protection when the “what now?!” moments happen.

Because apparently adulthood is just replacing things you didn’t know could cost THAT much. 😅

Have you had a major appliance or mechanical failure in your home? Tell me your horror story so I feel less alone.

According to the writer Antonia Hoyle at The Paper Magazine, a recent University College London survey found that one arts “session” a week was found to have a similar effect on the ageing process as an extra workout, with cognitive stimulation one potential benefit.

Chicago is packed with history and adventure. Did you know the city has 37 movable bridges? 🤔

We cruised through the city on the Architectural Boat Tour, shopped at a fabric store we could have been lost in, witnessed the cheese pull at Giordano’s, explored the creepy-cool Medieval Torture Museum, marveled at the incredible sea life at the Shedd Aquarium, grabbed ice cream, biked along Lake Michigan, and wrapped it all up with lobster rolls and grown-up beverages on the Riverwalk.
