It has taken me a few days to process this one.
Delmar was another fellow snow plow driver for us years ago. This is how I got to know him the best, besides through his brother Rod Bryant.
Delmar wanted to make some
Extra money, he had a truck, a plow & a solid work ethic, so we put him to work! He showed up & never failed to have the dip in his mouth & an ornery grin!
Delmar ALWAYS had an ornery grin on his face, always made me laugh & ALWAYS, I mean ALWAYS would stop to help anyone!!!!
He was the first one to show up when there was some sort of mechanical issue & yes he would have that grin on his face like, “what’s everyone so stressed about?”
It never failed, when I would see Delmar I would start giggling because he was just silly.
Delmar had a great sense of humor, he cared more about others than himself at all times.
He wanted to make extra money, but ask me how many driveways he plowed for FREE with me to help out our community & asked for nothing?!!! 🥹
Ask me how many times he jumped out of his truck to help shovel a sidewalk or get someone out of a ditch? No hesitation.
That was who Delmar was!!!
HE WAS SO GENUINE.
He wasn’t flashy or materialistic.
He didn’t care what anyone had or didn’t have.
And
He loved his almighty GOD!!
The New Hope Shelter meant so much to him & that was his ministry.
I ran into him not long ago & said “hey, come Plow snow again, I miss seeing you more often!”
He said to me, “I have God’s work to keep doing at the shelter!”
I will NEVER forget that. I will NEVER forget Delmar. Rest easy & I hope you are riding a fancy motorcycle up there!
