Summary-Drafts detailed construction drawings, topographical profiles, and related maps and specifications used in planning and construction of civil engineering projects such as roadways, drainage, utilities and residential and commercial site development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from Civil Engineer.
Creates plans showing plan profiles and cross-sections, indicating relation of topographical contours and elevations to buildings, retaining walls and other structures.
Drafts detailed drawings of structures and installations such as roads, culverts, fresh water supply, sewage disposal systems, etc.
Computes volume of tonnage of excavations and fills.
Accompanies survey crew in field to locate grading markers or to collect data required for revision of construction drawings, if necessary.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English Language. Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Computer Skills:
Experienced and knowledgeable with spreadsheets and word processing such as MS Office and knowledge of Autocad Land Development Desktop.
