Disclaimer: Posting as a concerned citizen not as a agent, not as a legal or other professional, these are my personal opinions. Not associated with our rentals but just wanted to warn the public as we know it’s difficult to find good rentals and good landlords. There are rental scams happening. Where a deposit is asked for, not just a small application fee, which is normal but a full rental deposit sometimes as much as $1,400, the person looking to rent pays the deposit via a Cash app and there is no rental, they are using real addresses but ask for deposit before showing the property. If possible visit all prospective rentals in person or send a trusted person or agent instead. If buying on contract, everything should be in writing, including total purchase and deposit price, time and rates. I would personally not buy on contract without having a real estate lawyer involved. Leases protect you not just the property owner, but make sure you read it.
