Okay, y'all are probably tired of hearing it, but I recently did a new construction inspection and here just a few of the items I found: shingle damage on the front porch roof that could lead to leaking, happened during the construction process, most likely siding guys set their ladders on the roof to do the siding above... toilet with a moisture meter reading at the base which means that the wax ring seal to the drain fl**ge is leaking, that leads to floor system damage... a three-way light switch circuit at stairs that isn't working properly, that's a safety issue, the electrician missed it, the builder missed it, the electrical inspector missed it... anti-tip device is not installed on the range for child safety, which is pretty common, but not so much in new construction, that's part of the final inspection process, so it should not have passed... I think you see what I'm getting at, new construction still needs an inspection. An everyday tip from your friendly local builder and home inspector!
