CALLING ALL KERRVILLE HISTORIANS ...

From the City of Kerrville's library collection comes this photo of Kerrville in 1903, 14 years before the United States' entry into World War I. (See previous post about upcoming WWI talk at the library.) This picture is taken looking south to north, with just a few farmhouses located on the south bank of the Guadalupe River. What is now the intersection at Water Street and Earl Garrett is toward the right of the photo.

Please feel free to comment on any homes or businesses you may recognize ... and remember, 115 years from now (in 2133) someone may be looking at a photo of Kerrville today and trying to do the same thing!

"LADIES NIGHT" THURSDAY IN DOWNTOWN KERRVILLE

The second of four "Ladies Night" events sponsored by Kerrville Main Street will be this Thursday, Oct. 25 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Downtown Kerrville. Bring your friends and enjoy bargain shopping, food, fun and drinks at Kerrville's downtown stores!

“MOVIES IN THE PARK" RETURNS THIS FRIDAY, OCT. 26

Come join the City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department for a family-friendly, monstrous night! Bring the family, chairs, blankets, sweaters and a flashlight for an outdoor evening. The "Movies in the Park" series returns Friday night, Oct. 26 at Louise Hays Park with a flick voted on in a Facebook poll last month.

The movie will begin at approximately 9 p.m. and is FREE for all attendees. There will be complimentary candy and a chance to win a big prize! We will also be joined by Jimmy John’s so you can snack on a sub during the movie.

Come dressed up as a monster and automatically be entered to win a Halloween basket filled with candy, movies and other awesome treats! The best ghoul, vampire, werewolf or monster will win.
