On this Veterans Day, we honor and recognize all veterans who have selflessly answered the call to serve in our nation’s Armed Forces. There is distinct honor in serving in the military, thereby committing to uphold American ideals and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

For their enduring devotion to promoting freedom, we thank all who have served; we are forever grateful for the sacrifices veterans have made for the freedoms we all enjoy. It is indeed an honor and a privilege to have former, and current, service members as part of the Millennia organization as they reflect the very best of our country and embody our core values.

Failure of the AC system is NOT an emergency. Please report the problem via voice mail, or during regular office hours. But try these things too! Check your filter (no air flow will prevent your AC from running properly) and your thermostat batteries. Close some of your registers and make sure your bedroom doors are open. In the meantime, open some windows, and be sure to hydrate!
Air conditioners are only designed to lower the temperature of your home’s air by about 15 degees. On extremely hot and humid days, the air in your home might be warmer than usual. Assume, for example, the air in your home was 95 degrees and your thermostat was set at 72. Your air conditioner would cool your air down to about 75-80 degrees, but it might never be able to lower it all the way down to 72. When this happens, your air conditioner will run constantly. Turning your thermostat down to an extremely lower temperature setting will not cool your unit down any further than the system is designed to do.
During hot weather do not shut your AC unit off during the day, just turn it up a few degrees when no one is at home. If you turn it off during the day than back on during the late afternoon/evening the unit will take a while, and run continually, to cool your unit. This will result in overwork of the system and higher electric bills. An air conditioning system can be turned on at outdoor temperatures at or above 65 degrees. Running the system below 65 degrees significantly reduces the life of the equipment. Ultimately, ruining the compressor.
