Wolosoff (b. 1903) with his brothers Leon and Martin had previously development parts of Forest Hills and Kew Gardens. Cashing in on the neighboring neighborhood’s name, they dubbed their project in Queens Valley Kew Gardens Hills. It eventually lent its name to the entire district. The Georgian-style 83 buildings and 423 units on 18 acres were one of the first garden apartment developments in the

neighborhood. It was built just south of the Queens Valley Golf Club (opened 1922). When it converted to coops in 1988 it became Kew Village Estates.
