Dog Adoption Fee: You pick your price! ($15 Must be paid to the county.)
As we head into hurricane season, the Florida Keys SPCA shelter is at extreme capacity, and we urgently need to find loving homes for many deserving dogs. Alongside our adoptable pets, we also care for numerous animals who are not ready for adoption, in the safe haven program or are awaiting stray holds causing our kennels to fill rapidly during this critical time of year.
An overcrowded shelter can increase stress levels for all animals in our care, making it even more important to help dogs leave the shelter and begin their next chapter in a safe, loving home.
We invite you to come meet your new best friend and consider opening your heart and home to a shelter dog in need. We have so many incredible dogs waiting for a second chance.
Our behavior team will also be on-site and available to answer any questions you may have, helping ensure the perfect match for both you and your future furry family member.
Important Information for Current Dog Owners:
Please note: If you have children or other pets at home, we encourage you to arrange a meet-and-greet at the Florida Keys SPCA before finalizing your adoption to help ensure the best match for everyone in the family.
If you plan to bring your current dog to meet a shelter dog, please have at least two adults in your party so each dog can first meet separately with handlers before introductions take place. To accommodate all potential adopters, there will be a limit of one dog introduction per party.
