We regret to post that we are having to cancel the UNconference due to lack of interest. We want to thank all the vendor partners and attendees that did attempt to participate. A new concept that just didn’t have the backing it needed. We tried to postpone and reschedule but we’re unable to secure the same hotel prices. All monies are being refunded through stripe and should take about a week or so. We are heart broken, but encourage everyone to visit KeyWest soon and find the beauty and fun we saw in the location!

The UNconference is a radical change to the ordinary conference experience; we all know that. To further push that idea, there are no speakers or panelists. You may be wondering, where's the content?! Instead, we are having “UNpanelists” that will be available every day during the day at or near the pool, to talk with UNattendees and share the valuable knowledge they have gathered through the years as successful property managers. This is worth the price of admission right here. This is a networking conference. If you're new to the industry, there's no better way to get connected. The fifth UNpanelist I would like to introduce is THE Robert Gilstrap!! What?!

Robert Gilstrap was born in Atlanta,GA, and grew up in Cartersville, GA. He served in the U.S. Air Force after high school. Robert has over 30 years of experience in Real Estate investing and management. He started Title One Management in 2007 and he is a licensed broker in both Georgia and Alabama. He holds both the Residential Management Professional (RMP) and Master Property Manager (MPM) designations through the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM), and serves as a past President of the Atlanta NARPM Chapter. Robert sold Title One to Pure Property Management in March 2022; but joined Pure as Director of Strategic Initiatives. Not having enough to do, he is also a licensed Property and Casualty Insurance Broker, a Class 3 Federal Fi****ms Dealer, and started a short term rental management company: Suite Stays Atlanta in 2019. We are lucky to have his undivided attention for four days to ask him any questions, and glean any knowledge we can from a very experienced property manager.

The fourth UNpanelist I would like to introduce is THE Janet Fields!!

Janet Fields was born and raised in Summerville, South Carolina. Many of Janet’s childhood summers were spent as child labor to assist her family while turning properties for the rental market. This is where Janet’s understanding and attraction to the property management industry began and where she learned the many fundamental aspects of the business.

Janet went to school locally at Trident Technical College for Graphic Design and later worked as a Government Contractor fabricating and installing communications for the Navy, Army, and Marines.

Janet began working officially in the property management industry in 2011. Just a few years later, she worked with her father to acquire her first book of business. Then in 2017, they did it again, and shortly after, Janet officially partnered with her father and recently bought him out so he could be happily retired & enjoying life!

Today Janet's focus at Oak Trust Properties is to remain a privately owned company that responds to the market promptly to provide services and support to professional investors to meet their financial goals.

When Janet isn't working in the business, she can be found exploring wildlife. She loves to be outside, tending to plants, digging in the garden, running, hiking, biking, and walking her dog, Taco. Janet can often be found outside with her children at the park playing frisbee or jumping bike ramps in the front park.

The third UNpanelist I would like to introduce is THE Tim Wehner!

Tim grew up in Dayton, Ohio and moved to the Greater Richmond in 2004. He graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 2008. Tim spent nearly 14 years of his career helping build Dodson Property Management into the largest company of its kind in Virginia focusing on single family, small multi-family and HOA management. After Dodson merged with Evernest, Tim took on the role as Vice President of Acquisitions overseeing the addition of over 4000 owners to the Evernest portfolio via acquisition since June of 2022. Tim has enjoyed serving at the his local chapter and on the Virginia State Board of NARPM since 2011 and as Regional Vice President on the National Board of Directors in 2017-2019. He was elected Treasurer in 2020 and is the current National President of the organization. In his free time, Tim enjoys playing golf and spending time outdoors with his two sons August and Elijah while indoctrinating both into the life of cheering for the Dayton Flyers basketball team and Cleveland Browns. It’s a tight life, but someone has to do it. Tim admits he “outkicked his coverage” in marrying his very lovely and understanding wife, Megan. Last but not least, Tim believes firmly that the paloma is the summer drink of 2023.

The second UNpanelist I would like to introduce is THE Matt Nelson. I have gotten to know Matt pretty well over the past couple of years. I have watched him grow professionally as he has plugged more and more into the local Atlanta Chapter of NARPM:

Matt is the SVP of Property Management and an associate broker of Excalibur Homes, LLC. He began leasing properties when he was 18 years old and I currently oversee a team that manages over 8400 single-family rental properties. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Kennesaw State University and is a Graduate of the Realtor Institute. Matt is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Residential Property Managers.

The first UNpanelist I would like to introduce is THE Daniel Rothrock:

Born and raised in High Point, North Carolina, Daniel is a graduate of NC State from the college of design program with an industrial design degree. He entered the real estate profession after being recruited as a loan officer in North Carolina, and eventually opened his own practice in Florida after moving in 2005. Simultaneously, he gained his real estate license and practice general sales until the recession hit. At that time, Daniel took a five-year hiatus and went into the education industry where he went back to school to obtain his master’s degree in leadership. Fast forward to 2012, and Daniel was called back into the family, owned and operated a real estate business as a full-time property manager. From then, Daniel has grown the property management division and obtained his RMP and MPM designations through NARPM, served on multiple boards, and is our pass president for both the Tampa and the Florida state chapter. Daniel currently serves as the NARPM RVP ambassador for the south east region. Daniel enjoys racing motorcycles and mountain bikes, getting into the gym as often as possible, and fishing while trying to have a great time with his wife and two kids.
