Here’s one truth most won’t tell you before you move here:
Island time is REAL!
The fastest speed limit you’ll hit is 55 mph on the highway.
In the cities? 35 mph - and honestly… There’s not much rush.
Key West might be a 2×4 island, but there’s one way in and one way out, so yes - accidents can back things up a bit. You just learn to plan ahead, build in buffer time, and breathe a little bit deeper.
But when traffic looks like bridges connecting islands, endless ocean views, and sunsets mid-commute… the time flies.
So be honest -
