NEW CHANGES IN SAFE TRAVEL HAWAII PROGRAM,; AND MAUI COUNTY "FULLY VACCINATED" MEANING FOR RESTAURANTS, BARS & GYMS .
Well folks, we have some new changes for Hawaii and Maui county here at the beginning of January 2022.
Yes, I am scratching my head, and know things could change again tomorrow, but for now- this is the latest.
Aligning with the guidance from the CDC- The mandatory self-quarantine period for individuals arriving in the Hawaiian islands who are not fully vaccinated, or do not have a negative pre-travel test result is now only 5 days, instead of 10 days,
In addition the Safe Travels Questionnaire that needed to be completed within 24 hours prior to your flight to Hawaii will no longer be required. For the latest information - https://hawaiicovid19.com/travel/.
In Maui County, the mayor has announced that effective January 8, 2022 fully vaccinated meaning is to include getting a booster shot. Restaurants, bars and gyms must ensure patrons are fully vaccinated + booster, or 48 hr negative covid test to dine indoors, or go to gyms. visit- mauicounty.gov for more information
I hope this does not hurt again our local restaurants trying to recover and remain in business.
