We live on Maui - Upcountry - and own two beautiful 1 & 2 bedroom condos with ocean views at the beautiful Kamaole Sands Resort in South Kihei. We rent OWNER DIRECT - what does that mean? Well when you call us you are actually talking to an owner - not a broker, rental agency or 3rd party affiliation - all of those people add fees to the price of the rental - so booking OWNER DIRECT

A Brown Water Advisory has been issued for the Island of Maui

The Hawaii Department of Health advises beach users to stay out of waters when the water appears brown or murky, especially following storms or heavy rain. After storms or heavy rain, the water may contain higher than normal pollutant levels. The Department recommends staying out of the water for 48-72 hours after the rain has stopped and after the beach has received full sunshine.

The Department of Health advises the public to avoid swimming, wading in, or drinking water from any freshwater streams or pond to prevent leptospirosis, a bacterial infection caused by the Leptospira bacteria. As many of you may know the Mayor of Maui is doing his best to destroy the tourist business on Maui. Affordable housing here has always been in short supply and made worst after the wildfires. His solution was to eliminate over 7000 vacation condos (including ours) and making them long term rentals for those locals needing housing. The idea may have sounded good but the reality is these condos are not “affordable”. In addition, these vacation properties support over 1900 local jobs that would be eliminated if his proposed Bill 9 were to pass. It’s also unconstitutional. Most of all the “donated” money the world gave to help Lahaina fire victims ended up with a group called Lahaina Strong - who hired advocates to push this bill along instead of helping those who needed the funds to establish their lives. It’s been a tough time for Maui and tourism is down. Finally after many studies, there is some hope that some (not all) of the properties may be safe (ours included). If you love Maui

And tell her you are OPPOSED to Bill 9 - and share your thoughts and how important renting a condo is versus staying in a hotel. We need to keep these condos available to rent short term and we need YOU to return to Maui. Mahalo for listening!🌺
