Day 2 We started off with running errands and making our traditional visit to Whalebone Surf Shop, TJ Maxx, Petsmart, and Lowe’s. I was looking for sun glasses and there’s always something we need to replace or fix at the house. And I have to say, if you are a TJ Maxx shopper, I highly recommend the one in Nags Head…I love the home goods and women’s clothes.

By this time we have built up an appetite. We have never eaten at Goombays before so we decided to stop there for lunch. I had a hard time deciding what to get so I ordered the sampler and Josh got the fish and chips. I also got their Goombay smash which is basically a Hurricane that comes with a souvenir cup. Everything was pretty good and reasonably priced in my opinion.

We headed back home where Josh fixed the light switch and I probably fell asleep because I don’t remember what I did. 😂

Finally we headed to the beach. We felt like we were missing something and realized that going to the beach without kids lightens the load by 1000%. There were no crowds and dolphins jumping! Pretty much a success.

Our night ended with cooking curry and watching the last 2 episodes of The Bear. To be continued…

Day 1-I have to say that the first steps into the house deliver a huge dose of dopamine for me. Clean counters and fresh linens are a love language. Anyone else agree?

We didn’t have it in us to cook dinner or sit in a restaurant after a busy day of getting kids off to camp and driving. So we popped into Publix to grab some snacks and essentials. I really do love their prepared foods and if you haven’t tried it, their key lime pie 👌🏼. Gotta thank my neighbor for that recommendation.

We noticed that one of the light switches in the kitchen wasn’t working…a problem to fix tomorrow! We plopped our booties on the couch and watched Self Reliance then off to bed to rest for our first real vacation day.
