Welcome to The Lass Resort, we hope you enjoy your stay in our home. Our goal is to rent to family and friends and keep the house out of a rental program saving you on all of the add on charges that the rental programs pile on. We hope that the same people will come back year after year and love and treat our home as if it were their own. We are more than happy to share our home with you, we would ask you to please respect our home and our property. We leave some supplies around the house for you to use such as dish detergent and condiments in the refrigerator, we only ask you replace an item if you use it up completely. Animals:
Our home is dog friendly, but limited to 2 small to mid sized dogs. Roughly 40-70 lbs. We have a number of members of our family who are allergic to cats, so unfortunately, no cats are allowed. Location:
We are located at 104 Baker Ave, Kill Devil Hills, NC. The house is located near the 8 mile post, the 3rd street on the left after you past the entrance to the Wright Brothers Memorial. The house is the 3rd house on the left hand side of the road (the pretty blue one). You will find that everything you need is very close, we have a Publix and Food lion just to the north on the bypass road, and a Harris Teeter a few minutes to the south, also on the bypass. There are numerous restaurants near by, and if you look on the side of the upstairs refrigerator you will see a couple of menus of some of our favorite places. Beach Access:
We are located just a short walk to the beach. The north beach access is on Ferris Ave one street up, and the Raleigh Ave access is just one street to the south. Both accesses have parking and showers to rinse off all the wonderful sand that you will be enjoying. Parking:
Be sure to park all vehicles in the driveway as there is no street parking on Baker Ave. ( You will be towed. )
Trash pickup:
Trash days are Mondays and Thursdays. The trash trucks come very early(5-6 am), so set them out the night before. The Recycle can goes out on Mondays only. Entrances:
The front door is accessed through an electronic keypad which you will be given a code for the day before you arrive. Please enter from the ground floor as the sliding glass door on the 2nd floor is blocked with a stick that you can remove after you get in. Air conditioners/Heaters:
The air conditioner/heater downstairs controls the entire downstairs. The upstairs unit is on the wall between the bathroom and kitchen. Note: when the outside temperature approaches and exceeds 90 degrees, it is unnecessary to continue to turn the thermostats further down than roughly 70/71 because the system will not cover that much of a spread! You will only be frustrating yourself! Refrigerator:
The downstairs refrigerator has some of our things in it that we want to keep there, so please use the upstairs refrigerator for all of your food. You are welcome to use anything in the upstairs refrigerator, all we ask is that you replace any items that you completely use up. Note: The main refrigerator upstairs has an extremely finicky ice delivery system. Beds:
Two queen beds on the top floor;
A twin over twin bunk bed, a twin daybed and a full size futon in the bunk room. A twin pull out loveseat and an ottoman that also folds out into a twin bed can be found in the downstairs sitting room. The pillows and blankets for both can be found in the white cabinet in the room. Linens:
You will need to provide your own:
Sheets and pillow cases for the beds (we have pillows and comforters and blankets for each of the beds that you can use). Bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths. Beach towels. Internet:
The wireless password for the internet is located next to the modem on the wall. Cleaning supplies:
There are cleaning supplies under the kitchen and bathroom sinks, in the closet of the smaller upstairs bedroom and downstairs in the laundry room. Cooking/Grilling Out:
There is a small Weber grill located in the tool storage area on the side of the house. We find that the grill fits perfectly in the back courtyard on the “extension.”
TVs, games and books:
There are TVs in each of the bedrooms. The TV in the living room and 2 upstairs bedrooms are connected to cable tv. We have a blue ray player in the living room, and a DVD player in the downstairs sitting room. We have an assortment of games downstairs in the bookshelf beside the bathroom and books upstairs. There is also a ladder golf and 2 corn hole games in the garage. To operate the Blue ray player:
Press TV/VCR Input multiple times until Input 2 is highlighted. To resume Cable:
Press input until DCH-6200 or #9 appears. Bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas:
We have one very old bike in the garage, several beach chairs and umbrellas and a couple of coolers for you to use. Please let us know if you have any problems with the bike, chairs or umbrellas. We also have a beach cart that you can use, please be careful not to overload or misuse it. We have a hammock in the garage that you can use with the stand in the backyard, please return this to the garage before you leave. Check out:
Check out time is by 10:00 am. Please be prompt, as we have a cleaning lady who has several houses to clean and needs to keep on a very tight schedule. Please check the following before you leave;
1. All food is removed from the refrigerator.
2. All dishes have been washed and placed back in the cabinets.
3. All trash cans have been emptied and the outside trash bins have been pulled to the street.
4. Curtains are closed.
5. Leave the Lighthouse lamp in the bunk room and the lamp on the desk upstairs.
6. Set all of the air conditioners/heaters to 78 degrees in the summer and 62 in the winter.
7. Make sure that the water is turned off in the outdoor shower.
8. Lock all doors and place the stick back in the sliding glass door.
