🌡️ HEAT ADVISORY – STAY COOL & STAY SAFE! 🥵☀️
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Heat Advisory for our area today, Tuesday, August 11, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM EDT.
🔥 Heat index values may reach up to 107°F.
⚠️ PLEASE TAKE PRECAUTIONS:
• Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. 💧
• Limit time outdoors and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
• Spend time in air conditioning or a cool location when possible.
• Check on family members, friends, neighbors, and anyone who may be especially vulnerable to the heat.
🐾 DON’T FORGET YOUR PETS!
Hot weather can be dangerous for our four-legged friends, too. Make sure they have plenty of fresh water and access to shade or air conditioning. Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
🔥 HOT SAND WARNING:
Sand can become extremely hot and can burn paws and bare feet. If the sand is too hot for the back of your hand, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws. Consider walking on cooler surfaces and taking beach walks early in the morning or later in the evening.
❤️ Stay cool, stay hydrated, and look out for one another!
Please take the heat seriously and know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. If you or someone else begins experiencing symptoms, move to a cooler location and seek medical attention when needed.
