🚨Emergency Water Conservation Notice - Dog Ridge Water Supply Corp.

🚨UPDATE: Dog Ridge is working to fix the outage but do not have an estimated time of restoration. The existing plan is for a temporary outage tomorrow (6/30/2025) to begin tying customers into an different water line.

There has been a major pump failure of Route 18 customers of Dog Ridge Water Supply Corporation. NO water is being pumped into the FM 2410 storage tank and once it empties there will be no water available. Addresses listed are affected.

Turn Off all irrigation & refrain from all unnecessary water use.
Boil notice will be issued due to low pressures.

WATER RESTRICTIONS: Starting tomorrow, stage 4 water restrictions go into effect across Bell County from May 27–30, due to two WCID projects improving system reliability.

“Bell County WCID 1 provides wholesale water service to about 265,000 people, including the cities of , Harker Heights, Copperas Cove, Nolanville, the Fort Cavazos Military Reservation and the 439 Water Supply Corporation. The 48-inch pipe delivers about two-thirds of the total water supply to those cities.”

On Monday, 05/26/2025, residents of Bell County, Texas, experienced multiple rounds of severe storms with heavy rainfall, damaging winds up to 80-85mph, and some hail. The storms resulted in power outages, structural damages, and debris in roadways. Crews from Bell County Road & Bridge and Texas Department of Transportation worked thru the night to clear roadways. ONCOR crews are continuing to work to restore power quickly and safely, this may take some time due to the number of down poles and lines.

If you sustained damage during the storms please report it to Texas Division of Emergency Management on the Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT). It can be accessed thru the QR code or web address below, select the "MAY 18TH - ONGOING SEVERE WEATHER". Reporting individual damages to homes and businesses helps emergency officials assess the extent of the impact. Be sure to include the location of the damage and at least one clear photo. This is not an insurance claim or promise of financial assistance.

If a power line is down or sparking call 9-1-1 and stay clear of it. Call Bell County Sheriff's Office at 254-933-5412 for non-emergencies.

Notice to Residents: Storm Debris Drop-Off Assistance

In response to the damage caused by last night's storms, the City of Harker Heights is extending the operating hours of the Drop-Off Center and Recycling Facility, located at 1761 FM 2410.

To assist residents with storm debris removal, the facility will be open Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed Sundays) until further notice.
