A letter in each bag of food given to the homeless from “Rutland Neighbors”
Give if you can.
To Our Neighbors,
We want to share that we are now officially and legally known as Rutland Neighbors, a nonprofit organization held at the Rutland United Methodist Church - While our name may be new, our commitment to you remains the same — to welcome you with care, dignity, and compassion.
As the holiday season arrives, we want you to know how deeply you are cared for and how grateful we are for you. Each day you walk through our doors, you remind us of the strength, resilience, and humanity we all share. You are not forgotten, and you are not alone.
We know that the holidays can be especially difficult. For some, they bring joy and celebration, but for many they also bring loneliness, worry, and uncertainty. Please know that each of you is held in our hearts. We think of you often, we care about your well-being, and we pray for you — each in our own way — that you may find moments of peace, warmth, and comfort during this season and always.
Your holiday food bag may not be much, but it is given with love and hope. We hope it helps you get through the days ahead and reminds you that your neighbors are standing with you, wishing you nourishment not only for your body, but for your spirit as well.
You matter. Your life matters. And we are honored to walk alongside you, especially during this time of year.
May you be surrounded by warmth, peace, and kindness this season, and may you feel the care of your community with you each day.
With warmth, compassion, and heartfelt wishes for the best holiday season possible.
Given to you with love and compassion,
Ellie, Linda, Kelly, Rob, Lori and all of our volunteers
