There’s a sight that changes the conversation in Killington. The snow guns are on and thoughts turn to winter.

Killington has officially begun snowmaking, making winter preparations for the longest season in the East. Behind that distinction is a mountain team ready to make the most of the cold and put in the work long before we buckle our boots.

There’s always someone in the group who says they don’t scare easily. Here’s their chance to prove it. 👻

The Killington Pico Area Association’s 3rd Annual Killington Haunted House returns October 16–17, bringing a little Halloween mischief to fall in the mountains.

Gather your friends or family for the kind of shared adventure that starts with “you go first” and ends with everyone retelling their favorite moment. Stop by the bake sale, too, with proceeds benefiting Killington Elementary School.

Every return trip has a familiar rhythm.

From first-time racers to seasoned competitors, thousands of athletes took on the rugged terrain that has made Killington one of Spartan's most legendary destinations. Every climb, obstacle, and finish-line celebration showcased determination, resilience, and an incredible sense of community.

The best part of a community event isn't always what's on the schedule.

It's the conversations that happen afterward.

For more than 100 years, the Long Trail has been part of Killington's story.

Opened in 1910, it became the nation's first long-distance hiking trail, stretching more than 270 miles along the spine of Vermont's Green Mountains. Its innovative route later inspired the creation of the Appalachian Trail, helping shape the future of hiking across the country.

Today, the Long Trail continues to connect people with the landscapes that make Vermont so special, passing through communities like Killington and inviting generations of hikers to experience the Green Mountains firsthand.

The best part isn't always what's happening on stage.

It's the conversations that last a little longer. Kids dancing barefoot in the grass. Dogs making new friends. Neighbors catching up after a busy week. Someone pulling up an extra chair so there's room for one more.

Killington's Cooler in the Mountains concert series is one of the highlights of the summer. The music brings people together. Everything that happens around it is what keeps them coming back.
