Free Pickles for Presents - Bring in 1, or more, unwrapped gifts to donate to Toys for Tots and I will give you one of my homemade jars of Lemon Cucumber Pickles. The cucumbers were grown in our Brownsville, CA garden. Lemon cucumbers are an Asian Heirloom variety of cucumbers that taste like cucumbers, but are the shape of lemons. Super cool and they grew like gangbusters in our garden over the summer, so pickling I did.

Thank you to our friends at Northstar Club who hosted a fabulous open house with sushi, white wine sangria and beautiful music by Sheldon. I learned a lot about a great opportunity for those who want to be right in the Village at Northstar without paying millions to enjoy a few weeks out of the year.
Overview of what I learned: 3 bedroom units $120,000 (avg. 2,000 sq. ft.) / 4 bedroom units (avg. 2,400 sq. ft.) $185,000 - Similar to a timeshare in that you get 2 preferred weeks in the winter and 2 preferred weeks in the summer, plus two additional weeks per year, however unlimited use is available after that upon availability. Conditions apply, but this could be ideal for those who only get to spend limited time in the area, but want all the amenities of home while enjoying the luxuries of a full-service hotel. The units are not rented out to the public so they are maintained as directed by the owners and stay nice as only owners are allowed to use them. Additional availability for use is also common, and doesn't cost anything more than the affordable Housekeeping Fees.
Other perks: Year-round access to Private Lockers for in-house and day-use, 2 parking places per unit (1 in the garage and 1 in the lot), Breakfast Daily, Happy Hour Cocktails and Tapas, Exchange Opportunities Available.
