Everybody likes personal space- including HVAC units. It needs airflow to do its job properly, so here are a few tips to keep in mind:

1. Keep grass cut neat, remove any weeds and vines that grow close.
2. Clear any falling debris like leaves, pine needles, or branches.
3. Don't place bulky items near the unit. Things like trash bins, toy storage containers or other furniture.
4. Lastly, if you notice anything unusual like ice, strange noises, or the unit not functioning properly please submit a maintenance request.

Think Ahead Thursday:
3 Things to check before you leave town!
1. Adjust your thermostat- Keep your HVAC around 74 degrees when you leave town, NEVER turn it off. We live in too humid of a climate to let your home sit without circulation. In the winter months, test to make sure your heat works first before leaving.
2. Check for leaks- Make sure all the faucets are off, and the toilet isn't running. Nothing is worse than coming home to wet carpets because the tap wasn't shut all the way.
3. Secure your home- Double check all the locks are in place. Even the ones you 'never use'. Don't forget the backyard gate too!

We do SO much more than that! We can't possible fit it all into one social media post, but we can try.

Tenant Tip Tuesday:
Want a quick way to create a clog in your plumbing system? Pour grease down the drain. It seems like its a liquid, so it should go down the drain. The problem occurs when the liquid solidifies and creates a block in the system, too far to reach with your hands, but far enough to back it up.
An old fashioned way, used to save bacon grease for later, but if that doesn't work for you- setting it to the side to cool and throwing it in the trash later works to save your plumbing.
