One of my favorite parts of what I do is getting to revisit my clients’ land and see how their homestead has come to life.

It’s been just over a year since Kevin moved onto this property, and the progress he’s made is inspiring. Today he showed me the goat shelter he designed and built himself. Lightweight enough to move solo, engineered for hills, and anchored so it won’t blow away. Simple, practical, and honestly brilliant.

As the Homesteading Agent, I love learning from the people actually living this life. Every visit like this gives me new ideas, new respect for thoughtful design, and a reminder of why land ownership matters so much.

I’ll definitely be trying a version of this build myself. Had to share it with you all.

Hey Everyone! I'm selling my first homestead in East Tennessee. If you've been thinking about making the jump and want a soft spot to land, there's no better place. This home was our primary home and has never been rented out. It is a 2012 Clayton manufactured home on 5 acres. There are two fully fenced paddocks, you just need to bring your animals and an energizer. We loved all of the sheds with power, because of all the stuff we had to move from California over. In addition, before moving out we repurposed an old shed and insulated the sides and roof as well as added power and a brand new window AC to create a "root cellar" and freeze drying room. The home itself has two sources of heat with HVAC and wood burning stove. The backyard garden was worked on with multiple fruit trees planted and soil was amended, ready for spring. The pasture is fairly flat with trees along the edges providing shade for your livestock. Home is on septic and city water but has a dechlorinator and water softener with Berkey filter shower heads. Let me know if you are seriously interested. Asking $320K, but more importantly you will get plugged into a great community if you seek real, grass fed and finished beef, raw milk, etc.

Home buying isn’t just paperwork and signatures.

It’s walking land. Talking through decisions.
Managing timelines, lenders, inspections, and real life all at once.

Feed costs are up. Fuel costs are up. Land prices are insane.

And now we’re introducing foreign competition into a market that’s already broken.

This isn’t about affordable beef.
It’s about who controls the food supply.
It’s about who owns the land.
It’s about whether our children will have ranches left to inherit.

Every policy has a ripple. This one hits home.
If we want freedom on our plates, it starts with freedom on our land. 🐂🌾🇺🇸

🚨 While the government talks about “fighting drug smugglers,” an aircraft strike group is heading toward South America…

At the same time, they’re opening doors to import beef from Argentina.

So let’s get this straight — we’re sending warships south while buying our beef from the same region we’re “monitoring”? 🤔

Meanwhile, American ranchers are hanging on by a thread.

Feed costs are up. Fuel costs are up. Land prices are insane.

And now we’re introducing foreign competition into a market that’s already broken.
