🚨 “Do Not Use” List? 🚨
If being thorough, objective, and unwilling to rubber-stamp a structure lands me on a builder’s “do not use” list… I’m okay with that.
My role as a home inspector is not to protect builders, agents, or transactions. My role is to provide an unbiased evaluation in the best interest of my client.
A new construction inspection is simply another set of eyes on the structure. And when it comes to one of the largest purchases most people will ever make, more qualified eyes are a good thing.
I don’t report opinions.
I report conditions.
And when I call out a defect, I back it with authoritative sources, manufacturer requirements, building standards, or industry best practices.
Anything can be repaired.
But issues that are never identified cannot be addressed.
At the end of the day, my job is simple:
Report what was right.
Report what was wrong.
Remain independent.
Protect the client’s ability to make an informed decision.
