If you’re planning on buying a home in 2024 these don't make these mistakes...

#1 co-sign for someone else

If you co-sign for a loan it will show up on your credit report as someone else debt. This reduces your buying power

#2 having too much credit card debt

It’s okay to have credit cards but if your statement balances are too close to the credit limit your credit score will go down.. Even if you pay your bills on time - carrying maxed out credit cards will hurt you

And #3 switching from a standard job to a commission only job

It’s okay to change jobs within the same field but if you completely change the way you get paid you risk having to wait another two years before you can actually qualify for a home loan. I have had a few clients do this who can verify it's a long wait.
